Level
6 - Review of Levels 1 - 5,
The Beginning Reading Series
This is the final level in the Beginning Reading Series and it
is intended to review and reinforce all of the skills the student
has previously learned. This level follows the same method of lessons
and exercises, supported with worksheets. The review level is especially
important for the student to reinforce everything learned up to
this point and to concentrate on areas where the student needs more
repetition to strengthen skills.
Goals :
- Have the
student review and reinforce the information learned in levels
1- 5
- Have the
student fully understand how to use the information learned in
levels 1- 5
- Have the
student master the information and skills learned in levels 1-
5
Level Six is a review level. The electronic exercises have been
designed to reinforce the skills, information and knowledge thus
far learned. Mastering reading skills is just like learning to ride
a bike. After the student struggles a little they begin to internalize
the decoding process. When this occurs they are ready to apply the
internalized knowledge to unfamiliar words. Encourage your student
to read, listen, play and write the same lessons over and over again.
Use resource material that reflects the information from Level 1
through Levels 5. At this point you can introduce workbooks that
feature material with the learned strategies such as logic, sequence
exercises, mazes, crossword puzzles, and critical thinking. After
you are confident that the student knows the information skills
and knowledge in the first five levels and has demonstrated mastery
of the strategies in each level, then it is time to move into more
advance level reading techniques. These more advanced reading techniques
will be introduced in the Intermediate Reading Series which will
be available in the near future.
